Environmental Injustice: A History
NC Conference Youth President Cooper Sykes is back to share with us how environmental damage adversely effects our most vulnerable neighbors. Come learn about North Carolina's role in the origins of the environmental justice movement, designed to combat the disproportionate rates of environmental harm affecting people of color and low-income communities. We'll discuss the events in the early 1980s in Warren County, the predecessors of the movement, and where environmental racism and injustice is still rampant today.
